Hi, my name is Arlie Roten and I want to
share with you who I am and where I come from.
I was born on July 8, 1947 to the late Smith
& Zola Sheets Roten. I am the older of two sons. I was educated in the Ashe County School System.
I was saved in 1963 at the age of 16 at Calvary Freewill
Baptist Church in Glendale Springs NC. My pastor was the Rev Clate Kilby. I felt the call of God upon my life
at an early age but it was not until Feburary 1974 that I finally surrendered to the ministry. I spent several years
as a local evangelist, preaching wherever I had the opportunity.
As for my church background, I was the youth pastor
at Parkway Garden Baptist Church in Wilkes County, I also served as Brotherhood Director, RA Director, Youth Sunday School
teacher, Young Adult teacher, and a member of the choir at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Taylorsville NC. Before coming
to Meadow Ridge Church I served for 18 years as an associate pastor at Calvary Chapel in Taylorsville NC. There my focus
was on visitation and evangelism, I also assisted my pastor when there was a need.
For the past 2 1/2 years I have been the pastor of the
most wonderful group of people here at Meadow Ridge Baptist Church. At Meadow Ridge the past does not determine your
future as an active church member. If your past has been forgiven and you are committed to serving Jesus Christ, you
have a place at Meadow Ridge! Our church statement is: "Rediscover Church at Meadow Ridge". The scripture
tells us that when we are forgiven it is as though we had never sinned. God forgets when He forgives. At Meadow
Ridge true forgiveness qualifies you to serve Jesus Christ, there are no exceptions.
