A Little Trivia for April

Where did Jonah board a ship bound for Tarshish?

What was Solomon’s seaport at the head of the Gulf of Elath?

What Philistine city was home to Goliath?

From the Pastor’s Desk

Let the sneezing and wheezing being; spring is here.  Such a small price to pay for such a beautiful season.  The flowers, the trees all bursting with beauty of a new life.  Time to garden, to mow and do all those things that many of us enjoy so much.  I could do without those high temperatures that are coming, but even that is a miracle after such a cold snowy winter.

This reminds me of our Christian life.  There are times when we walk through cold and dreary places.  Places where we sometimes feel that there is no life.  Then things begin to change and just like springtime, our life begins to glow and we feel the warmth of the sweet Holy Spirit of God as He begins to bring forth new growth in our walk with Him.

Where ever you find yourself today, be assured the God in the form of the Holy Spirit is right there with you and in time He will cause you to rise above all your circumstances.  Jesus said, I will never leave you nor forsake you, but I will go with you all the way.  I have never had to walk alone and neither have you if you are a Christian.

The resurrection of Jesus left His disciples scared and alone.  They thought that all hope died on the cross.  I suppose that they felt very discouraged.  I know that they did because they and the women were all looking for a dead man.  What they found was a resurrected Jesus who was very much alive and well.  I know that you have heard all this before but it doesn’t hurt to be reminded of the faithfulness of Christ our Lord.

Until He Comes

A Note From Kathy

This is the day the Lord has made.  We will rejoice and be glad in it.  Psalm 118:24  I want to encourage you to choose to live like this each day.  We have reason to rejoice.  God provided a way for us to have a relationship with Him, a way that we can spend eternal life with Him and He also provided forgiveness of our sin.  Through the shed blood of Jesus we have one to walk with us through the dry and painful valleys in our lives.  Of course we can share our joy and our victories with Him.  We celebrate a risen Savior that loves us so much that He freely gave His life for you and for me.  As we celebrate our risen Savior this Easter weekend, let’s remember we need to give Him honor and glory each day we open our eyes.  Hallelujah, what a Savior!  Give Him praise!

I want to thank each one that came to our sister’s meeting.  We sure had a wonderful and very blessed time.  God always honors our time together when we come seeking Him.  I want to encourage all the ladies to come and be with us next time we have a meeting.  We are planning one in the fall and another in the spring of 2011.  More details will follow at a later time.

We are looking forward to Easter week.  Revival at Meadow Ridge begins Sunday April 4th at 6 pm and Monday through Wednesday at 7 pm.  Rev. Darrin Lambert will be bringing the message each night.  Annette, Darrin’s wife will be singing for us Monday night.  Some in the church will be singing the other nights.  Please come praying that God will have His way in our hearts.

We are very excited about the group Rejoice coming to sing for us on Sunday April 11th at 6 pm.  They were with us about four years ago.  They are a wonderful group of folks that love God and want to serve Him.  I encourage you to come and be a part of this very special night.

All the events that are scheduled are planned to encourage and lift us up through the difficult times in our lives.  If you are not here, you will miss what God has for you.  Please come and support the events and one another.

Remember, God loves and cares about you and we do too!

May God Bless You Today and Everyday!

See you in church

Kathy
